An Intelligent System Approach to the Dynamic Hybrid Robot Control

    Get PDF
The objective of this study was to solve the robot dynamic hybrid control problem using intelligent computational processes. In the course of problem- solving, biologically inspired models were used. This was because a robot can be seen as a physical intelligent system which interacts with the real world environment by means of its sensors and actuators. In the robot hybrid control method the neural networks, fuzzy logics and randomization strategies were used. To derive a complete intelligent state-of-the-art hybrid control system, several experiments were conducted in the study. Firstly an algorithm was formulated that can estimate the attracting basin boundary for a stable equilibrium point of a robot's kinematic nonlinear system. From this point the Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) based solution approach was verified for the inverse kinematics solution. Secondly, for the intelligent trajectory generation approach, the segmented tree neural networks for each link (inverse kinematics solution) and the randomness with fuzziness (coping the unstructured environment from the cost function) were used. A one-pass smoothing algorithm was used to generate a practical smooth trajectory path in near real time. Finally, for the hybrid control system the task was decomposed into several individual intelligent control agents, where the task space was split into the position-controlled subspaces, the force-controlled subspaces and the uncertain hyper plane identification subspaces. The problem was considered as a blind-tracking task by a human

Reasons behind the Practices of Green Banking by Commercial Banks: A case study on Bangladesh

    Get PDF
Green banking is a new initiative throughout the world. The leading bankers and entrepreneurs have come forward to save human from environmental disasters. In the context of Bangladesh, if we think about it, we will find the situation to be terrible. Our people have little awareness about environment, air and water pollution, industrial and medical, and household wastes. In this way, we can say green banking is nothing but an 'eco-friendly socially responsible banking system' which drives the whole nation towards a healthy environment and presents an excellent and hazardless banking. We have selected bankers as the possible sample of this study and have conducted probability stratified sampling technique. The total 60 respondents have been selected by the rules of factor analysis. Factor analysis then has been used to analyze the data and to draw the findings. From the factor analysis, it has been found that three factors namely loan & legal factor, environmental factor, and economic factor are the real influencers. These three factors have consolidated variance of 74.957% of the decision with respect to the appropriation of green banking by the commercial banks to make sure sustainable economic development. Dynamics of Remittance in Bangladesh: A Case Study on United Commercial Bank (UCB)

The aim of this paper is to evaluate the inward as well as outward remittance performance of United Commercial Bank (UCB), Bangladesh. The study exposes that the inward and outward remittance of UCB has been increasing over the years i.e. from 2007 to 2013. In 2013, the highest inward remittances come through Xpress money among the leading five products (Xpress money, Western Union, NEC Italy, Money gram and Modern Exchange). In 2013, the remittance inflow has decreased compared to 2012 from Soudi Arabia, Libya and United States of America while remittance in flow has increased from Malaysia, United Kingdom, Italy, Kuwait and Qatar. The rate of growth of inward remittance of UCB has dropped after 2010, although in 2013, it increased a little bit compared to 2011 and 2012. While growth rate of outward remittance showed an erratic trend form 2010 to 2013. Based on the findings it can be said that UCB should introduce new inward remittance product as well as it should arrange seminar and symposium to introduce the cost and benefits of their remittance products in home and abroad which may increase the remittance flow from different countries and  this will ultimately benefit the county’s economy. Political Economy of Local Level Budgeting in Bangladesh: A Critical Analysis

Accompanying the estimation of revenue and expenditure, the local level budget manifests a grassroots area's development plan for a defined period. In Bangladesh, the Union Parishad (UP), the lowest tier of local government, is obliged to prepare its annual budget by ensuring people's participation through various mechanisms and committees following the Local Government (Union Parishad) Act, 2009. With this background, the study explores the UPs' budgeting procedure to identify the influential actors and effectiveness of people's participation from political economy perspectives. Following the qualitative case study approach, this study was conducted on the four Union Parishads in Sylhet, Sunamganj, Cumilla and Narsingdi districts. It follows the in-depth interview and Focus Group Discussion techniques to collect primary data from the UP chairman, members, Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNO), and other members of various UP committees. The finding shows that mechanisms like Ward Committee (WC), Ward Shava (WS), Standing Committee (SC), Planning Committee (PC) and Social Mapping for ensuring people's participation are not working accordingly. In most cases, these committees are confined to the papers. In practice, the budgeting procedure is dominated by the politically and economically empowered groups, e.g. UP chairman and his allies, ruling party members, local elites and bureaucrats, which is hindering the socio-economic development at the grass-root level in Bangladesh

Analysis of the Link between Central Government and Local Government in Bangladesh: A Case Study of Union Parishad

Local government is one of the most significant parts of the central government. In the past, the control of central government over local government was minimal. Afterward, several presidential orders were notified to raise the power of local government. However, power and authority of local government were increased with pen and paper but not in practice. In this study, the scenario of the Union Parishad was analyzed as a part of local government, since it has to perform many activities with the scarcity of resources. The objective of this analysis is to investigate the nature of the relationship between the effects of limited resources to the activities of Union Parishad. In this research, data was collected from some local government representatives and some personnel of Ishwardi Upazila, Bangladesh through questionnaire and interview. First, the study reveals that local government always faces several particular problems due to lack of resources in case of distribution of relief cards to the poor villagers, a donation in disaster and exceptional circumstances, a contribution in educational and religious institutions, etc. The graphical analysis demonstrated the scenario between the requisitions of the Union Parishad to the central government and the percentage of those requisitions actually fulfilled. The outputs of this study summarized that the actual supply from central government was minuscule than the demand of Union Parishad. Hence, it could not deliver services accurately. Some recommendations have been provided to overcome the problems of a Union Parishad, which include that the government should enhance Annual Development Programme (ADP) allocation to ensure people’s participation in formulating and implementing development projects, and the control of the Union Parishad over the local resources has to be increased
